She probably thought little of it, but Liz Lalor’s landmark, riding a 100th winner in a point-to-point last Sunday at Nenagh, merits comment.
While she has as yet achieved nothing like the big wins that have gone the way of Nina Carberry and Katie Walsh, Lalor is well respected. Her achievement in point-to-points – a traditional grass-roots brand of rural racing that has become ultra-professional in the past decade – is laudable.
