These are historic days for Irish horseracing broadcasting, with a changing of the guard about to be realised that seems to have prompted more annoyance than agreement.

At The Races, for so long allied to the sport of kings in this country, last February lost the rights for 2019 onward; the channel is soon to become Sky Sports Racing. Its painfully slow progression to high definition will come too late for Irish horsemen.
