An underwater robot that could revolutionise the mining industry is being tested in the Silvermines hydroelectric power station in Tipperary.

The 26.5 tonne iVAMOS! mining robot has embarked on underwater testing and real-time analysis of water quality, mineral levels and water depth at the Siga Hydro electricity generation station near Nenagh.
