Ulster Bank has announced that it is to pay a dividend to its parent company Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), its first pay-out since 2008.

In an announcement to the Irish Stock Exchange, the board of Ulster Bank Ireland DAC said it planned to make the €1.5 billion payment on November 30 to National Westminster Bank plc, which is ultimately owned by RBS.
