Conor Brophy: Twitter goes for broke on broadcast

Twitter struck gold with its first venture in live sports broadcasting, and now it has a sales pitch. Trouble is: now everyone else does too

Twitter has clearly decided to put the social back in social media.

The micro-blogging platform has announced 16 separate partnerships with other media organisations, all of which will be offering live video content on Twitter. They include Buzzfeed, MTV and Major League Baseball. The anchor for the whole package, though, will be a 24-hour Bloomberg news channel.
