Fund manager Martin Gilbert was at Donald Trump’s inauguration, front and centre. Well, near enough.

He was about 40 metres away and directly in front of the new – and controversial – leader of the free world.

The chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management, a £300 billion investment firm based in Scotland, told The Sunday Business Post: “I went because I’ve never been before and never likely to be at one again, probably.”
