Things looking up for Classic Hits 4FM after difficult times
The Dublin-based station has endured some difficulties since launching in the middle of a recession, but its chief executive Sean Ashmore now feels much more upbeat about the future. Colette Sexton reports
Classic Hits 4FM, Ireland’s first multi-city radio station, is expected to break even for the first time this year, having previously recorded a loss every year since it was launched in 2009.
Sean Ashmore, the chief executive of 4FM, said that the station’s revenue, which is about €2 million a year at the moment, had doubled from what it was two years ago.
