They own the night: Press Up's relentless growth
Press Up says it is breathing new life into previously unused buildings in Dublin city centre, but critics accuse it of squeezing out smaller independent operators and deadening Dublin nightlife with flashy yet dull restaurants and bars
This week, a new Indian restaurant opens in the fashionable Portobello area of Dublin 8. Doolally, the owners say, will celebrate the authentic regional flavours of India while showcasing the best of seasonal Irish produce. It will serve up “top-notch tipples”, seat 220 customers and is nothing short of a “love letter from India to you, on a plate”. It will no doubt be welcomed by eager diners, but it is also part of a bigger picture.
