Sad to see HMV’s Oxford Street store with its iconic 1920s ‘His Master’s Voice’ signage shut down after 96 years on London’s top shopping street.

That’s just one in a litany of closures of course, not least in the Irish market, where HMV stores shut last year after Paul McGowan’s Hilco group, conceded defeat in its attempt to revive the fortunes of physical music and entertainment selling.
