Liverpool and Man United both had 3-3 draws midweek. The only difference was Liverpool drew with title chasing Arsenal while Louis van Gaal’s crew gave up leads of 2-0 and 3-2 to a pretty awful Newcastle side. With just two wins in all competitions since late November, it’s not a shock that van Gaal’s tenure at Old Trafford is under severe strain. Defeat today would see his side fall further back in the race for Champions League spots and see Liverpool draw level with them.
