Half of business leaders questioned in a new survey have reported experiencing financial loss due to occupational fraud and abuse in the past two years.

Mazars’ latest annual occupational fraud and abuse survey, published this month, surveyed close to 100 senior figures to gauge levels of occupational fraud in Irish business.

Twelve per cent of respondents in the Mazars survey said they had suffered losses greater than €500,000 over the past two years.
