State to stump up extra €10m to help fund major BAM project in Cork city

A funding crisis over a major Cork city development by BAM Construction, the company that was awarded the National Children’s Hospital contract, has been resolved after years of delay.

BAM Construction won a competitor tender process to build a 6,000-seat events centre on South Main Street in Cork city in 2014. The then taoiseach Enda Kenny turned the sod on the project in February 2016, but construction has not yet begun.
