Some taxing questions remain for Airbnb hosts

Airbnb is the tax problem that has yet to be solved. Hosts, encouraged by the company’s lobbying efforts, are hoping to be allowed qualify for rent-a-room relief.

But two years since Revenue’s decision to look at Airbnb’s database of hosts, to identify those who have taxable earnings as a result of hosting activities, hosts are still no closer to the tax break.
