Siro in talks on more broadband hubs

Siro, the joint venture between Vodafone and ESB which is investing €450 million in building Ireland’s first fibre-to-the-building broadband network, is opening six new broadband hubs this year.

Mullingar and Naas are tipped as two of the new hub locations, as the company hopes to add another 200 jobs across all of its hub locations over the next three years.

“It’s a very exciting initiative. We very much have an incubator for growth in the area. People can live down there for lifestyle choices, affordability, and all of that plays into it. It means you don’t have to go to the major cities to get the connectivity you need really to be a success in a global business,” saidSean Atkinson, chief executive of Siro.
