Retail sales jump 8.6 per cent on last year
Furniture and lighting sales were slightly down in September
Retail sales grew by 8.6 per cent on an annual basis, CSO figures for September show. Excluding car sales, there was an increase of eight per cent in retail sales on the previous year.
There was a monthly decrease of 2.6 per cent in furniture and lighting sales. Food, drink and tobacco sales were also down, by 2.2 per cent.
