Small and medium sized firms are the lifeblood of the midlands

Wholesale and retail, manufacturing and agriculture. These sectors are what the midlands are known for.

According to Ibec’s local economic indicators 2017 report, 16 per cent of workers in the midlands are employed in wholesale and retail, 12 per cent in manufacturing, and 8 per cent in agriculture.
