The west of Ireland is proving that it can pull its weight economically
That stretch along the west coast of Ireland, from Sligo through Mayo, down into Galway through the Burren and Clare, and curving into the Shannon estuary to Limerick, has plenty of common threads. Not the least of them is that all these counties boast being part of the multibillion-euro ecosystem of leading global biopharma and medtech companies that have set up highly sophisticated research manufacturing facilities in the West, employing thousands.
