Purcell could lay bare secret IBRC deal
Retired director is taking an action aimed at halting the inquiry
Former Irish Nationwide executive John Purcell is prepared to partially lift the lid on a confidential settlement of a €6 billion claim brought by IBRC for the alleged mismanagement of the building society, the High Court has heard.
Purcell and the other directors involved “put their hands in their own pockets and produced a ball of money to pay IBRC to settle that action”, his barrister John Rogers told the court last week.
