Rugby is about to get a shake-up with the arrival of two South African teams into the Pro12. It’s certainly a gamble, but will the Pro14 be a win for players and fans alike?

It was almost a very good idea in that it was fascinating, exciting, innovative and new. Last week, when Keith Wood appeared on Newstalk, he got chatting about a format he’d like to see emerge here. With English sides not happy about the schedule, there’s a need for synchronicity; and with Celtic clubs not happy about the money, there’s a need for change.
