Much-needed legislation for defined benefit pension schemes will be good for both employees and employers

Earlier this month, a Fianna Fáil bill dealing with protection for members of defined benefit pension schemes was passed in the Dáil. It has now been referred to the select committee on social protection. So, what are the implications if this bill (or a near version) finds its way into legislation?
