The patience of Irish football fans may be running out

Martin O’Neill’s contract has made the headlines - but what about the FAI’s duty to fans who are still waiting to see who the national team will actually be playing?

The most honest insight into the transitory nature of sports management was provided by former Denver Broncos’ head coach John Ralston who explained that “I left because of illness and fatigue – the fans were sick and tired of me”.

Irish football fans are expected to display more fortitude by the FAI and, to date at least, have quietly complied. However, they may soon reach the limits of their patience.
