David Horgan begins unbuttoning his sleeve in the corner of Bar No 23 at the Merrion Hotel in Dublin. I am not sure where this is going. Sleeve loosened, he rolls it up to reveal a large scar. “I shattered my arm drilling a well,” he says. This is his way of explaining the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into Clontarf Energy, the oil and gas exploration and production company focused on Africa and South America of which he is managing director.
