Number of home owners in arrears down 16 per cent
Buy-to-let arrears also down 19 per cent, according to Department of Finance
Figures from the Department of Finance show that the number ofpeople in mortgage arrears has fallen by 16 per cent over the past 12 months.
The department said there were 64,614 mortgage accounts behind with payments in July. This figure is for residential properties, or principal dwelling houses (PDHs). It represents 9 per cent of all PDH mortgage accounts.
