The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is tackling “cyberchondria”, the stress and worry associated with the inaccurate self-diagnosis of health conditions online, with a new health information app.

The RCSI has partnered with Dublin company Tekenable to launch MyHealth, with input from 16 charities.

Pete Rose, Tekenable’s chief technical officer, said the app would offer users a discreet and credible source of health information.
