Nearly 70 deals notified to state’s competition watchdog in 2017

A total of 67 merger and acquisition deals were declared to the competition watchdog in 2017, the same number as last year, according to an analysis of data by The Sunday Business Post.

November was the busiest month for mergers and takeovers, with eight being notified to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), including bookmaker Boylesports’ acquisition of nine betting shops from rival Bambury.
