Moriarty rejected Ansbacher hearings

The Moriarty Tribunal ruled out further hearings into the alleged use of more secret Ansbacher bank accounts by politicians.

It examined correspondence from Gerry Ryan, the senior civil servant who last week supplied a lengthy dossier to the Public Accounts Committee about alleged tax evasion by politicians.

Ryan was appointed as an authorised officer by former enterprise minister Mary Harney in 1998 to investigate the Ansbacher off-shore accounts used for tax evasion.
