Kilkenny firm’s quality limestone carves out a niche with sculptors

McKeon Stone, the Co Kilkenny supplier of Irish blue limestone to the Irish and European market, is exploring plans to expand its Threecastles quarry to boost capacity.

Established in 1950 by founder Jimmy McKeon, the company supplies limestone products, including architectural cut stone, cladding and paving, to the construction sector in Ireland, Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
