With a record share offer and a payout worth tens of millions, the McCann family’s ownership of Fyffes is set to come to an end after 114 years

Masatomo Sumitomo was born in Japan in 1585. A former Buddhist monk, in approximately 1615 he founded a small shop from which he sold books and medicines. He was apparently a man of strong principles. While building his business, he decided to commit to paper his ideas on conducting commercial activities in a moral and ethical manner. He wrote a letter titled Monjuin Shiigaki (commonly known as Masatomo’s Admonitions) and distributed it to members of his family.
