This coming weekend, after eight and half years in charge, Richie Boucher will formally step down as chief executive of Bank of Ireland. In the same manner that has marked the months since he announced his retirement, it will be a low-profile and private departure. As Boucher told me a year ago, there will come a point when he and Bank of Ireland aren’t synonymous.
