When the IMF talks, it’s best to sit up and take heed

The IMF have been friends of Ireland since they were forced to dig into their deep pockets and bail us out. When it came to reducing the interest rates on the loans they gave us and on paying them back early, they were onside. Even when it came to wanting to burn senior bondholders, they had our back (though it came to nothing).
