DublinTown has spent half a million euro on illuminating the city centre for Christmas, but its chief executive sees it as money well spent
DublinTown, the not-for-profit organisation that represents 2,500 businesses in the capital, is putting a lot of money behind that Christmas feeling - and it started early by putting up festive lights in the city centre on November 9.
In total, it will invest €700,000 on Christmas. Of that, €500,000 will be spent on lights and €200,000 on marketing. That’s a lot of cash, but it’s worth it, according to DublinTown chief executive Richard Guiney.
