Leinster retailer Sports Savers closes with loss of 80 jobs

Sports Savers, an Irish-owned sports retailer, has pulled down the shutters on its ten stores with the loss of 80 jobs.

The retailer, which previously sponsored the Wexford GAA teams, operated mainly in the south east, but has recently expanded into Tipperary.

Staff were told last week that the shops were shutting, and it is expected that a liquidator will be appointed in the coming weeks.
