The Leinster senior football championship began yesterday, but it’s already over
Last winter, a couple of teammates from a club in the capital, two rival inter-county players in Leinster, were shooting the breeze. They got talking about demands on bodies and minds. One, from down the country, said it was the little things. “They put so much stress on time. Like getting home exhausted and trying to make food that sticks to a diet we’re given, it’s hard.” The other, a Dublin player, looked baffled. “We don’t have that problem,” he said. As he explained, he was given his weekly intake, cooked and laid out to tick every box drawn up by their experts.
