Lego reported a 1.8 per cent decline in profit for the first half of the year asEurope’s biggest toymaker hired more workers and invested in China and Mexico.

Net income declined to 3.49 billion kroner (€469 million), the Danish company said. Sales increased 11 per cent to 15.7 billion Danish kroner and operating profit rose one per cent to 4.66 billion kroner.
