Headline of the week was surely ‘pulp diction’ as Samuel L Jackson signed up to be the first celebrity voice of Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant. How much Amazon is paying to use Jackson’s stentorian tones is not known, but his contract plays a small but important part in the clever strategy Amazon is using to make Alexa a ubiquitous part of every home – at least at some point in the future.
