Lack of pension awareness among women not just workers

Just 51 per cent of Irish women are part of a pension scheme

Almost three in five women are unaware of what benefits their pension will provide in retirement, according to a new survey.

Research commissioned by Bank of Ireland, in association with online community eumom.ie, found that just 51 per cent of Irish women are part of a pension scheme.

Of those with a pension, one in four reviews their contributions annually, while four in ten never review their contributions, the survey’s findings showed.
