Kingspan makes €700m offer in latest European push

The Cavan-based company has been expanding into Europe and the Americas in recent years, reducing its reliance on the Irish and British markets

Shares in building materials group Kingspan jumped in Dublin on Tuesday after it announced that it had made a €700m offer for two of Belgian multinational Recticel’s divisions.

Kingspan, which makes insulation panels for buildings and homes, said it had made the offer for Recticel’s insulation and flexible foams divisions. It added, however, that it had lined up a separate buyer for the flexible foams business, should its offer be accepted.
