Irish SME funding platform scoops British innovation prize

Irish-owned SME funding platform Swoop has closed its first seed round, raising €1 million in the same month as the start-up was named as the only Irish winner in the Open Up Challenge run by global innovation foundation Nesta.

As one of three overall Open Up Challenge winners announced last week, Swoop was chosen from 12 shortlisted companies to receive a total cash prize of €400,000.
