The state’s largest landlord has warned that it will be years before government policies to correct the state’s dysfunctional housing market take effect.

Ires Reit chief executive David Ehrlich, who has spent almost €600 million acquiring thousands of apartments in Ireland, said “the [housing] supply and demand imbalance, despite recent announcements, will not be corrected for quite a number of years”.
