Ireland’s ambassador to the EU asked Stripe, the multibillion-dollar valued payments giant founded by Limerick’s Collison brothers, to move its European headquarters to Dublin during a meeting in which the company sought to tap Irish knowledge on EU politics.
Declan Kelleher, Ireland’s permanent representative to the European Union, made the suggestion to the company over a dinner convened to help Stripe navigate EU issues in Brussels earlier this year.
