Ireland’s cash for jobs scheme to be extended for three years

The Connect Ireland scheme, which pays out up to €150,000 in cash to individuals who attract jobs to the country, is to be extended for a further three years.

The scheme, which is chaired by businessman Terry Clune, runs out next March. It has so far created about 1,500 jobs in 50 different projects, although this is far less than had been promised when it was launched in 2012.
