Insolvencies and start-ups both on rise

Company insolvencies increased by 17 per cent so far this year, according to new statistics published by the online companies website Vision-net.ie. Some 5,146 companies have been dissolved this year.

But there is also a rise of 7 per cent in start-ups this year, compared to the same period in 2016. Already, there are 10,303 new companies in Ireland this year. No companies that were formed in 2017 have since been dissolved.
