It is difficult to recall a year when there was as much uncertainty about critical economic and political developments in the world as there is today.
First, there is the pending departure from the EU of our closest and biggest trading partner, the terms, timing, and nature of that departure and whether it involves leaving the single market or the customs union or both. For Ireland, that is the biggest issue for now.
