‘I’m a bit of a horseaholic’
Tim O’Driscoll’s maiden voyage at Cheltenham a year ago ended in failure, but this time he’s hopeful that his brilliant young horse Dinons can be one of the stars of the festival
From his back garden, Tim O’Driscoll could practically hear the public tannoy system at Leopardstown racecourse. After scaling a perimeter wall, the 12-year-old boy would be at the winning post within minutes.
To him it was a magical travelling circus, a playground just over the wall. The next few hours would be spent observing and marvelling at the assembled cast of characters – bookies, punters, jockeys, trainers, owners and, of course, the horses.
