The Department of Heritage has raised concerns that effluent from Bartra’s proposed shared living scheme in Rathmines – and other new developments – could “significantly impact” protected nature habitats in Dublin Bay.

In a rare planning submission to Dublin City Council, the department noted effluent from the Rathmines scheme and other new developments would eventually be released into the Liffey estuary through Ringsend’s wastewater treatment facility.
