How Google reaps the data dividend

Google is using our intimate and personal data to make money from advertisers. But if campaigners have their way, the web giant won’t be doing it for much longer

How well does Google know you? If you use any of its products, it almost definitely knows your age, gender and current location, and likely knows what sports, music and news outlets you prefer.

But does Google know if you are impotent, pregnant, Christian, gay, left-wing, disabled or having trouble sleeping? And if it does, who is it sharing this information with?
