Glanbia counsels patience on plummeting milk prices
The institutional shareholders are content. The financial analysts are impressed. But Siobhán Talbot, the head of Ireland’s largest dairy firm Glanbia, is now dealing with the growing unease of her other major stakeholder: farmers.
The slump in milk prices, now nearing a 12-year low, has little, if anything, to do with Talbot or Glanbia, the €3.3 billion company that last week impressed the markets with its results for the first half of the year.
