Founder to pocket €70m from sale of Blue Insurance

Ciaran Mulligan, the founder of Blue Insurance, is in line for a €70 million-plus pay day after selling the company to a subsidiary of financial service giant Zurich.

Mulligan is the main shareholder in Blue, which specialises in travel, car, gadget and pet insurance. The company is being bought by Cover-More Group, a fast-growing consumer insurance company which is part of Zurich.
