New chief executive Hackett is charged with getting the car maker back on track. Culture and an ability to have fun in the face of difficulty are two ways he hopes to achieve this

You can have any colour you want as long as it is black, Henry Ford famously said about the Model T Ford. Ford’s pioneering spirit was founded on keeping things simple and developing a car for the masses. By 1927, when production of the car had ceased, Ford had sold in excess of 15 million units and revolutionised car ownership.
