FBD’s Muldoon urges state to expedite insurance report

With claims costs still an issue for insurers, Muldoon said even though companies were making higher profits, it didn’t automatically follow that prices would fall

The head of FBD, one of the country’s largest insurance companies, has said the legal industry is still bypassing the Injuries Board, leading to continued high claims.

Fiona Muldoon, chief executive of the insurer, said the recommendations of the forthcoming report on the sector by former High Court judge Nicholas Kearns had to be implemented quickly, and that legislation requiring claims to go to the Injuries Board was proceeding too slowly.
